NGO, India Against Corruption, needs donations to fight against corruption is understandable. Civil Society, Anna Hazare team, needs donations to fight against corruption is understandable too. But a national level party, BJP, needs donations to fight against corruption is not at all acceptable. Or do you think it is very normal?

bjp janlokpal BJP needs Donation to Fight Against CorruptionReceived following SMS:

Sender: +919223170022

Message: The cancer of Corruption & Black Money needs to be eradicated from India. Donate & Strengthen BJP at www.bjp.org/donate or reply YES <with your name>

We checked the authenticity of the SMS on the official BJP Facebook page and to our surprise, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is indeed asking for donations to fight against corruption.

The BJP stands committed towards bringing purity, transparency and accountability in public life and invites all its respectable members, supporters, well-wishers and friends to become “Aajiwan Sahayog Nidhi / Vishesh Sahayog Nidhi” abhiyan members.

Let us join hands to take first step towards clean politics & corruption free India. You can donate online

Awesome. You give me money and then I will fight against corruption else I will not.

Lokpal bill is to be presented in Lok Sabha tomorrow on 3rd August 2011 and BJP started their donation against fight for corruption a day before thinking they can attract a lot of money to just be against the bill in the Legislative Assembly of India. And they may be right in thinking that too but is that ethical?

If BJP is really serious for corruption issue then it should unconditionally support the Janlokpal bill with full force & help it become a law. In return they can surely expect a win in next elections. But no they do not want to waste this opportunity to earn in the name of donations. It was surely not expected from a party of status as BJP is.
